Strelitzias
The strelitzia is the “bird of paradise”: an orange-and-blue flower resembling the head of a bird in flight. It is the tallest and most dramatic point of a bouquet. At Flowers & Lovers we make bouquets with strelitzias in Vilnius – exotic, architectural, for those who find the classics too quiet.
What strelitzia bouquets we make
We source strelitzias from Dutch and South African growers – each stem carries several flowers that open one after another. We combine them with anthuriums, hydrangeas, heliconias, orchids and eucalyptus. Every bouquet is wrapped in matte paper and comes with your message.
Caring for strelitzias
Strelitzias last 2–3 weeks in a vase. Trim the stems diagonally, place them in plenty of clean water and change it every 2–3 days. When the first flower fades, gently open the next one from the same “beak” with your fingers. Keep them warm and away from draughts.
